How Does our Reading, Writing, Math Program Work?
Designed to prepare for the upcoming school year, our small group classes (10 students or less) are interactive in learning. Similar to private tutoring, our students will receive personalized attention from our instructors with the benefits of working together with their peers.
Our dynamic program will support a student's ability to excel in critical reading and comprehension, writing composition, and mathematics. Special focus shall be on building vocabulary, thinking critically, collaboration and organization, preparing students to meet the challenges of their next school year.
The ability to read critically is essential for students to develop for success in academia and eventual careers. At Good Morning Education, in addition to reading classical novels, students shall be applying critical reading skills for standardized exams such as PARCC and PSAT. Students will gain strong reading skills by learning how to read effectively, improving their comprehension and analytical skills.
Translate school math to the real world. We focus on math word problem types that are seen on many standardized tests like PARCC, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Learn how to apply school math to real world situations. Build math problem solving skills.
Grammar is the foundation of the English language. Students shall master fundamental and intricate grammar rules to become a better writer and speaker.
Build skills on writing: descriptive, expository, persuasive, and analytical essays. Students will translate their learnings onto a wide range of essays and be well prepared for their next academic endeavor.
Vocabulary is extremely important in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. At Good Morning Education, students study over 100 essential vocabulary words and roots every week.
